I have an AMAZINGLY Wonderful Family!

It's tempting to just skip over all of the bad days in this blog and just write about the fun, upbeat stuff.  But that would not be an accurate portrayal of my life.  Sometimes I just lose it.  I think everybody does.

So my weekend got off to a bad start.  Saturday I was letting a bunch of little things bother me more than they should.  So what was bothering me so much?  I wrote about us "re-organizing" in a previous post, and in our efforts to remove the clutter from Blake's office and his truck, we let all of that clutter build up in other parts of the house (namely, the living room, kitchen, and dining area).  And when I have such a huge task of cleaning ahead of me, and I don't know where to start, I get overwhelmed and prefer to ignore the problem.  I know that's not a good thing to do, and that's something I'm going to have to work on.  Isabelle was also very fussy that day, and while I LOVE being a mother, sometimes you just want to pull your hair out.  The weather had been bad for a several days, and I tend to get moody without sunshine.  It was also very windy, and the wind was blowing against the side of our house ALL day and it was LOUD.  (This was clue #1 that my breastfeeding/pregnancy hormones were messing with me as well:  I was seriously pissed off at the wind.)  And everything just seemed to be much worse because while I was wallowing, hubby was having a great time playing golf.  So my poor Blake came home to a hysterical, depressed wife.  Blake gave me all of the comfort I needed, then watched the baby and kept her happy while I made desserts for Ariel's bridal shower.

Sunday was much better - Blake helped me and Isabelle get ready, and then dropped us off at Mass in Loreauville, where we met up with Catherine.  Mass went pretty well, lol.  It was hard to pay attention because Isabelle didn't want to sit still and she kept harassing me the whole time - pulling on my hair, earrings, veil, necklace, whatever she could get her little hands on, etc.  After Mass we left for Ariel's shower in Breaux Bridge.  Her shower was absolutely beautiful.  Her Aunt Missy hosted it at her home, which was stunning.  We got to visit with family and friends, as well as get to know Ariel's family a little better - and they're all wonderful people!  Ariel's family goes to garage sales and antique shops all the time, and she got some really unique gifts!  I can't wait to go to her and Gregory's house and play with all her stuff!  Lol!  Anyway, on the way home Ms. Michelle and Catherine made plans to come over Monday and help me make a dent in all the housework I needed to do.  We got home, and I realized that while we were gone all day, Blake had spent his Sunday cleaning the house!  He didn't scrub the toilets or anything, but he removed the garbage bags destined for Goodwill from the kitchen, took the bookshelf that had been sitting on our front porch and put it in the utility room for me to use as a pantry, took the broken dresser out to the side of the road, and just cleaned up a lot of the clutter.  And let me tell you, it was SUCH a relief to walk in the door and not have that huge mess!  I have a wonderful hubby, I love him so much!

Not many people can say they truly love their in-laws, and fortunately I'm one who can honestly say that I do.  Monday, my wonderful mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law came over to help me finish cleaning the house.  They helped me feed Isabelle her yogurt, give her a bath, clean the kitchen, take out the garbage, do laundry and fold clothes.  They're going to go straight to Heaven, lol.  I still can't express to them how grateful I am for all of their help.  Just the moral support was enough to get me motivated to clean.  We also went back to Breaux Bridge to get Catherine and myself fitted for our bridesmaids' dresses, and we met Ariel for lunch!  Later that night, we all had a great time watching John's team win their baseball game, which was a big deal because it's the first game they've won so far!

So my weekend started out pretty rough, but thanks to my wonderful husband and in-laws, I feel SO much better.  When you spend most of all day in your house, it feels so great to have it be clean!  So THANK YOU Blake, Ms. Michelle, Catherine, and John Michael for all of your help this weekend - I really appreciate it, and I love all of you!
