Well, once again it's been a very busy week, and I haven't had the chance to update in a while. And since I don't want to bore you with every detail of my daily life, I'll just give you the rundown of what we did.
Friday night we drove to Baton Rouge and stayed at my parent's house, and Isabelle got to spend some time with her Baton Rouge family. Saturday morning, Blake officially bought my parents' 2004 Toyota Sienna (more on that later)! We drove to Herb and Kathryn's "Couples Shower" (there weren't many couples there, lol), and then Sunday was Mother's Day and we spent it at Blake's parents' house. Monday Isabelle and I picked up Catherine and we met Hayley to do some shopping in Lafayette, and we successfully found a graduation present for Micah, shoes for me to wear at Gregory and Ariel's fast-approaching wedding, a dressy maternity/nursing top for me to wear to Mass and other nice events (NOT an easy find, mind you), and a veggie steamer for me to make baby food for Isabelle. That was a LONG day, but it was really nice to be able to run errands on my own instead of having to rely on the kindness of my dear, licensed family members. We kept to our usual Monday night ritual of Baranda's with Rhiannon and Grant, and then back to their house for coffee afterwards. Tuesday was another errand-day, as Catherine and I needed to get fitted for our bridesmaid dresses, return to Ariel her long-lost camera, and make a quick trip to the grocery store. Then we headed over to John Michael's baseball game (which they lost miserably), but the boys got to meet Jared Mitchell after the game. (Just in case you're wondering who the hell that is, it's okay - I didn't know either, though I did recognize his name. He played football and baseball for LSU before being drafted to play baseball for the White Sox, and he's out for the season with an injured ankle. He's from New Iberia, so I guess he was here for a visit.)
Anyway, that was my crazy weekend and first few days of the week. Sorry if it was boring to you, but hey - I didn't make you read it! ;o)
And what a wonderful ritual it is!
