Cajun Dancing, New Babies, and a Great Weekend!

This weekend turned out to be so great!

Friday was Blake's grandparents' 50th anniversary, and Blake's parents and aunt and uncle threw them a beautiful party at Poche Bridge Country Club!  They renewed their vows, cut the cake, did a traditional "wedding march," and danced the night away to their favorite Cajun band!  The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, the music was outstanding, and their family was all there - what more could you ask for?

I have never seen a couple dance with so much energy - I can't even dance like that now, and these are Blake's grandparents! They could literally dance circles around everyone I know (and this wasn't their "serious" dancing, like they do every week at places like La Poussiere - they were just messing around and having fun)!

Isabelle had so much fun dancing with her Papa!

Saturday, Blake took Isabelle to his mom's house for a few hours so I could get some housework done - it's amazing how much you can accomplish with a little coffee, peace, and quiet!  I do housework all during the week (if I'm feeling up to it), but because caring for my baby takes priority over housework, it's hard to get stuff done sometimes.

So I was cleaning and being a busy little bee, and Blake called me to tell me some WONDERFUL news - some good friends of ours, Grant and Rhiannon, finally got a baby girl to adopt!  We're SO happy for them, and we got to go visit baby Alana Clare Saturday afternoon!  She's absolutely beautiful and precious, and I know Grant and Rhiannon will be amazing parents!

I love holding new babies!

After we left, we went to Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette where Zack and Hayley's little boy Auron James was baptized!  What a blessing to be there to witness a precious little one become a member of God's family!

Welcoming a new little member of the Church!

Sunday was a great day too - we went to the Latin Mass in Carencro (Isabelle did NOT behave), Blake took me out to Zea for lunch (this time Isabelle did behave), and then we spent the rest of the afternoon at Blake's parents' house, where I took a little nap and then we ate dinner.  What a wonderful weekend!
