Baby Cribs, Sleeping through the Night, and an iPhone!

Well the baby crib I ordered finally came in, and though I haven't sold that queen bed and the yellow furniture quite yet, I managed to move some pieces to the office to make room for the crib.  Blake set it up a few nights ago, and it's absolutely gorgeous!  And Blake started priming my changing table so I can paint it (he has to prime it because the primer is oil-based, and pregnant women aren't supposed to use those)!  I'm very far from having the nursery the way I want it, but we're slowly making progress!

I absolutely LOVE the crib!  It's a Graco Lauren crib, and we ordered it from Walmart online for only $125, with FREE shipping to the store near our home!  It did take a looooong time to ship, but I'm very happy with the crib!

And as you can see, I didn't buy a bedding set. I firmly believe bedding sets are outrageously overpriced. Most cost well over $100 and include only one set of crib sheets, a dust ruffle, bumper pad, and blanket.  That's just one example of baby stuff the stores tell you that you need, but you really don't.  Since dust ruffles and bumper pads are unnecessary (bumper pads are even thought to be dangerous), and we already have a TON of blankets, I bought two sets of crib sheets instead for about $15!

In other news, last night I put Isabelle down in her "big girl crib" around 10:30, turned the baby monitor on, and went to sleep.  I woke up the next morning to sunlight.  So either my baby monitor malfunctioned, or Isabelle actually slept through the night (and yes, I did have to go in and check on her to make sure she was still alive, lol)!  It's amazing what six consecutive hours of sleep can do for you!  I was so refreshed and well-rested I couldn't believe it!

We had a great Sunday - we went to Mass, I went to Shannon's baby shower (little boy clothes are sooo cute), where I got to spend a little time catching up with some of my friends from Girls Group, and then hanging out with Blake and Isabelle for the rest of the afternoon!

Side note - Blake answered my phone a few days ago when I was nursing the baby and my dad called.  He realized that he could barely hear my dad (I've been having phone problems for the past month or so), and he went out and bought me an iPhone!...well technically he bought himself a 16G 3GS, and gave me his 8G 3GS.  But that's okay, I'm LOVING my iPhone!  I had an 8G iPod Touch before, but having the phone (not to mention the mostly-everywhere internet access) and my iPod in the same tiny machine is wonderful!  I love how easy it is to take and upload pictures to facebook!
