It's a...huh??

Sorry I haven't had a chance to update in a few weeks.  I've been really busy!  And since I don't remember every single detail of the past few weeks, I'll just write about the biggest highlight:  We found out if little Baby Bean is a boy or girl!!

We wanted to make it special, so here's what we did:  We scheduled a 3D ultrasound with Angel Prints in Lafayette, and got to see our little Baby Bean!  It was SO amazing getting to see the baby on the big screen, knowing that we made this little one!  The baby was really tiny (I was only 17 weeks along), but we could see that it was completely formed - what a miracle!  The baby was just hanging out, probably sleeping, with its legs crossed and cuddling up to the placenta, using it as a pillow!  SO cute!!


But we told the woman doing our ultrasound NOT to tell us the baby's gender.  Instead, she called Guidry's bakery in New Iberia and told them if the baby was a boy or girl.  They baked us a cake that was gender-neutral on the outside, but filled with either pink or blue icing on the inside, so that we would find out what we were having when we cut into it!  How fun!

So Gregory and Ariel picked up the cake, and we went over to Mrs. Michelle's house to cut it.  It was such a pretty cake - covered in white icing and decorated in pink, blue, and yellow.  Blake anxiously cut into the cake, to find out that it was a...chocolate cake with Bavarian cream filling!!!

WHAT!?

I was SO angry, I thought the bakery screwed up the cake!  And then Blake told Gregory to bring in the real cake...he was in on the joke the whole time!

So they brought out a second cake, exactly like the first, and we cut into it - it was a white cake this time...with PINK filling!!  Which means that little Baby Bean is a GIRL!!

We're all SO excited!  Even though Blake was rooting for a boy (I think most men want a boy, even if they don't admit it), he's still REALLY excited to be having another little princess!  I hope Isabelle and her new baby sister will be best friends growing up!  And it's also great for us financially, since we have all of the little girl clothes/blankets/burp cloths/etc. we're going to need!  Which is awesome, considering we still have to get a new car seat and a crib and a double stroller and diapers and God knows what else, lol!

Now we just have to decide on a name...

Since I'm at my parents' house right now and I don't know how to work their scanner or Apple computer, I can't post the pictures yet.  But when I do, I'll update and let you know!!
