Crock Pot Chuck Roast for Sandwiches

This is one of my favorite recipes if you're super busy.  The trick is to start cooking it early in the morning.  It's really easy to put together, then you just cook it in the crock pot all day.  It also freezes well for later use, so I put individual servings into small freezer bags for a great, quick meal whenever I get hungry.

Crock Pot Roast for Sandwiches
  • 3-5 lb chuck roast
  • 1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1-2 chopped onions
  • 4 cubes of regular beef bouillon
  • Hot Sauce (about 5 shakes)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic Powder (to taste)
In a small bowl, mix the package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix with 1 cup of water.  Place chuck roast in crock pot and pour soup mixture over roast.  Add chopped onions, bouillon cubes, hot sauce, pepper, and garlic.  Cover and put on low for 8-10 hours.  After it cooks, shred roast with a couple of forks, removing as much fat as you can.  Serve on pistolettes or rolls.

**To make barbecue beef, you can also add about 1/2 bottle of barbecue sauce to the crock pot after it's been cooking for about 4 hours**

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
