So yesterday was a great day - Isabelle and I went to the mall with Ariel and Rhiannon. I needed an outfit for Ariel's shower this Sunday (which I got, and it's really cute), and some makeup from Sephora. We also did some shopping for Ariel's honeymoon. Later that night, Blake did some much-needed grocery shopping, which is good. I just don't have a place to put said groceries, since he's no longer letting me use his office desk as a pantry. So they're all over my kitchen counter right now. And that's where they will stay until I have a pantry cabinet to put them in.
So, what was the highlight of my wonderful day today? Yogurt.
For weeks now, Isabelle has been looking at us with little pleading eyes every time we eat anything, wondering when it'll be her turn to partake in this amazing substance called "food." We've let her have little "tastes" of solid food before, but today was her first solid "meal." We don't have a high chair yet, so I had to put her in the walker, tie a bib around her neck, and spoon vanilla yogurt into her little mouth.
I have to say, she was much more interested in the bib than the fact that we were finally letting her have food. But once she got tired of playing with the bib, she did pretty well for her first time eating! And it was SO much fun feeding her! I can't wait to feed her again tomorrow - I think we'll try a different flavor!
The best part of my day though, was Isabelle's afternoon nap. She slept for a little while in her bed, then woke up, nursed, and finished her nap in my arms while I relaxed and enjoyed the moment. They really do grow up fast, and I am so blessed to be able to stay home and cherish these precious moments with her.
